Bing a New Seach Engine from Microsoft

Microsoft continues to try to capture a larger audience by releasing a new search engine named “Bing”.

As with their last change from “MSN” to “Live”, “Bing” will probably result in the same confusion that no one will know it officially exists, frankly because it probably won’t have that much of an impact. If it does, well then I will be incorrect in having said so, but going by Microsoft’s last change from MSN Search to Live Search – many people even now don’t know of the difference – frankly because there wasn’t much of a difference other than the name change.

The US$80 Million that Microsoft is spending on marketing may have an impact to attract new users, however old users will still remember the poor results returned from either MSN search or Live search that they would rather stick with what they know works for them, either Yahoo or Google.

Frankly, all that I can think of when I see the name “Bing” is ‘Chandler Bing’ from friends and that annoying girlfriend of his in the first few episodes, Janice. So for me, “Bing” in all it’s glory is related to this – Oh My God!!!
